ffective marketing does a few things, among the most obvious: drive ideal customers to your website and therefore your sales pipeline. As a byproduct, this means effective marketing helps you stand out from the crowd so that potential customers understand why you are different from the competition.
In order to do this, it can be useful to start - you guessed it - with the competition.
Google Keyword Planner is a great tool to gain some insight about the language your competition is using to attract its audience. (We talked recently about leveraging the tool to generate content ideas for your blog).
This time, we’re going to start a search using one of your competitors’ URLS. The Keyword Planner tool is connected with your Google Ads account, and you can access from the tools drop down menu. You can then either “Discover new keywords” and click “Start with a website,” and here’s where the competition comes in.
Grab your competitors URL, drop it in and click to the search results. VOILA! A whole list of keyword content ideas without racking your brain. You can export search results to hold onto the ideas and information while planning your marketing strategy. These can be useful to creating content that will speak to your audience and hopefully drive traffic to your website instead of the competitions.
