EVERGREEN VS. TRENDY CONTENT? A TRUE COMBINATION FOR DIGITAL MARKETING SUCCESS

here seems to be endless options when it comes to social media platforms for marketing your business in 2022. To add to the social media noise, all of these platforms are also constantly changing. Thankfully, there is an easy strategy you can implement consistently: content creation.

Social media, email marketing, digital advertising - all of these are required to have a successful marketing strategy. In order to excel in these you must be creating content.

There are two types of content: evergreen content and trending content.

Evergreen content is content that is valuable to the viewer whether they view it as it's posted or months or even years later. This content is typically shared in long-form such as blogs, videos, or podcasts. Long-form evergreen content is key to building your audience, as these forms of content are SEO driven, making your brand easier for new eyes to find.  Evergreen long-form examples include videos, podcasts, and blogs. Choosing at least one evergreen form to incorporate into your marketing strategy will be crucial to helping your brand discoverability.

Trending content is content that is following current trends in the digital space and are typically seen in short-form content. Examples of short-form content include quick social posts about specific projects, news and announcements, photos of your workplace or employees.  

Social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, TikToc and Twitter are great places for this content. Choosing at least one trending social media platform will allow your brand to stay relevant and to get your message in front of new eyes while also ensuring that your brand is staying current with the internet trends.
