orkforce shortages continue and industry experts predict the challenge is one that will stay: Deloitte estimates we’ll see a shortfall of 2.1 million skilled jobs by 2030.

So how do you get ahead of this curve, and keep your workforce afloat? Add LinkedIn among the tools in your toolbox that ensure you can find top talent your company needs.

LinkedIn Hiring Basics

New to LinkedIn? Here’s a few tips to get you started.

  • Ensure your LinkedIn company page is complete and on brand. High-quality candidates will be more attracted to a company with a strong online brand. It shows professionalism, and can be leveraged to build rapport with candidates while staying top of mind for when they are looking to make a career move. Candidates will look at company pages on social media platforms, including LinkedIn, for basic background research. Be sure to impress!
  • Post Job Openings on LinkedIn. Leveraging LinkedIn’s job tools will allow you to more easily connect with candidates that have certain qualifications and a pre-existing interest in your industry. No need to sell on the work you do or weed through candidates who shouldn’t make the cut - that happens up front.
  • Leverage LinkedIn Groups to make key connections. LinkedIn Groups are a great place to connect with individuals who you do not have personal connections with already. This means you can engage in a conversation with a potential candidate who you’ve never met; LinkedIn otherwise requires individuals to accept connection requests or pay for inmail to send messages to those you don’t know. Browse existing groups for topics of interest that are relevant to the position you are trying to fill.
  • Send personalized messages so they actually get read. We all get those templated, batch messages. Sure, its a numbers game and sometimes that works … but if you are really interested in a candidate, be sure you customize the message you send so that it is actually read.
